As pro4nut said, make sure you research the company too so you know who you are dealing with.

Be polite and courteous(?) too...you might only be a part-timer but when the holidays come along and you're after some of that Christmas overtime it will do you well to have built up a good relationship with the person who dishes out the overtime hours

I was pushing trolleys at Sainsburys for £3.80 an hour in 1996, but I used to work all the hours I could grab.

Oh and another tip, from a 30 year old with financial regrets.....dont waste your wages! Save some of it if you can....it might sound lame to save some of your wages but even something like £50 a month for 5 years will go someway towards a deposit on a house.
I never appreciated the important of saving up for a deposit, getting a mortgage and all that and chose to blow my wages on fags, beer and motorbikes lol
