I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong! But...
Holeshots just look wider as they have a flatter profile compared to the mini spikes, minipins have a similar flatter profile but don't have such square sidewalls.
The handling characteristics would be very different if mini spikes had that flatter profile and I doubt they would work as well.
