In 4wd especially durango it works better because the gear diff cant slip and you can use thicker oils to tune it.
But in 2wd, except on carpet, you are slower with the gear diff.

I expected this would be the case... great for new beginner though, much easier do deal with than a ball diff.
And should be OK for 4WD on high grip tracks as you say.
