finished building the car last night and had my first run today, although not very successful
3 laps in, and my ball diff slipped really bad. Funny as it let go all of a sudden, not a slowly slip. I was sure to tighten up the grub screw, but it had loosen itself. So I'm new to schumacher ball diffs. So if the grub screw loosens, then the ball diff will undo itself? I thought the ball diff was under tension from the disc spring. So everytime I want to make an adjustment to the ball diff, do I need to make adjustments to the grub screw too? Sounds like an overly complicated system
So I tightened the diff up, and then one of the screws came off the the bellcrank. Didnt care too much about the screw, but had lost the post and bearing. Lucky I had another kit, as this will be used for spares. Not schumachers fault for this, I rushed the build and didnt apply threadlock where I would usually, even though the manual does not indicate to use it.
Anyway, my initial thoughts were that the car has heaps of steering and jumped really well and handled the bumps very well. Going to dial out some steering tomorrow during the heats/races.
I also had a notchy gearbox, however it didnt seem to affect the performance even though it doesnt roll freely compared to other cars.
PS, not a fan of the wing attachment, need to hold with part under the wing with pliers, otherwise it will keep on spinning and wont tighten up.
