I tried it the other week at West Bridgeford which is a grass track, and too be honest I can't really explain it. It made it feel more consistent, and didn't seem to bite so hard when turning in and didn't wash out when applying the power.
I also did a similar thing on the rear by running 1.5mm on the front and 4.5mm on the rear so basically 1mm wider all round. Again it made the car feel more consistent round the track and handled the small pattery (is that a word) bumps that were forming really well.
It's worth giving it a try, as it's difficult to explain what it feels like, but i'll be giving it a go at the RHR national this weekend.
It also leans the shocks in more as your effectively moving the shocks out on the wishbone, along with changing where the wishbone pivot point is, so it's similar to running a slightly longer camber link (or a narrower plate if you like), or reducing the number of washers under the ball stud.
Hope that helps.
