It's best to replace it before it falls out with your gearbox and that needs replacing too

Ive heard a few stories of people changing the dmf to a solid flywheel and snapping the crankshaft or blowing the gearbox. Europart did a solid flywheel conversion for a ford but withdrew it cos of this happening.
