You are right Simon TORCH is unique in getting a lot of racing done in a short space of time.
At bigger meetings and regionals it is very frustrating being sat around for so long for your next race.
It is one of the reasons I like TORCH so much is that we get the racing done and not sat around for no reason and they are very good at getting the racing sorted quickly.
I go racing to race, not sit around.
Lets hope we can all come to an agreement here but I am not travelling all that way to spend more time at the track but only do the same amount of racing.

Personally I like plenty of time to fix, change, adjust, fettle, charge, the car, and plenty of time to eat, chat, watch other racing etc.
It was amusing, we were at Taly, and had a time table with an hour and a half between each run, and we were saying how nice it was! Loads of time to fix the car, strip it down, change something, get it sorted before the next run, it was ace!
I think it's down to a mindset where you either go racing to get track time, or you go racing for the whole experience, and that includes a lot of time working on the cars.

I personally prefer a day at the track, and at a comfortable pace... not 4 hrs... and cant even stand still until you marshalling or racing again.. thats my view.. plus you dont get much if any time to change tweak-Fix things if broken too...
I MAY be down sunday not sure.. depends on my work load!

Please don't let the number of rounds be the issue here. I am sure there will be enough racing to meeting everyones needs!

If 15 people turn up then it'll be x number of rounds however if 40 people turn it of course is going to be less.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Also got to take into account that people will need time to charge batteries, particularly racers still running NIMHs

I ve been racing for 25 years all told (on and off), 5 years sponsored and travelled with racing to Australia, Florida, Belgium, Holland, France, Portugal etc etc. So my experience of formats is fairly good with
"IC racing"!
When I participated in 2 world championships the most frustrating part of the 2 weeks was there was very little run time. Qualifiing being 3 days only with 2 qualifiers per day. This was a staggering total of 60 mins on track for 3 days, you were waiting to up to 3 - 4 hrs between runs depending on what heat order was running

. So in relation to the Torch setup you have huge differences. Tbh off the point to a degree.
Lets bullet point the positives of fast turnaround vs negative:
Positive
1. Value for Money
2. More racing
3. More fun/challenging?
Negatives
1. Wear Rate of car increases,
2. No chat time/socialising
3. No helping others
4. No fixing/breakage/improvement time
5. Less racing
6. Less time to reflect, pressurised racing
Add ons:
1. 3.5 hrs half day meetings create limitations?
2. Best fit senario to meet new and old racers to Torch?
3. More all day meets (based on success/support of ones planned)?
4. Sponsored Support from businesses like RW/Schumacher (Local RC shop)?
5. Needs of the many outway the needs of the few?
6. Voting (Membership Meeting)
7. Developing/Evolving
8. Commitment from commitee and members to support/change?
9. Track readiness for larger meetings
10. Acheving the longer term goals of the club?
Keeping everyone motivated to come back and join in with "our" club.
I believe less racing is right to enable the support factor to struggling racers, who need advice and basic help, to make sure they stay motivated to come back. I tell u one thing if I was getting my arse kicked, I would want lots more set up time to make my car faster. We need to set the rule no matter what the numbers we aim to turn the heat around at a minimum of 45 minutes. This would mean we could cater for 40 drivers comfortably and get 4 rounds and 1 final in or 3 rounds and 2 finals.
The racing would need to start no later then 915am and would look like so
Round 1 915 - 1000
Round 2 1000 - 1045
Round 3 1045 - 1130
Round 4 1130 - 1215
Finals 1215 - 1300
No breaks but you would get about 30 - 35 mins between your race including your marshalling.
I beleive this is the way forward and would keep everyone to a degree happy. I always go with the majority.
I'm sure a regular all day meeting once per month would be welcome and embraced by all.
Now lets go racing Sunday and enjoy a slower paced meeting and I will help anyone who wants the support.
