Can tell from experience that it is absolutely necessary to have the long rear diffcover when racing on loose dirt tracks. Small stones find their way in otherwise. With the long cover it is no problem what so ever. Almost like you could run it with the lid off a still have a clean diff.
If you run soley on turf/grass the short cover is sufficient.
Who said size does not matter??
What I cant figure out is why Tamiya designed it the way they did from the beginning with an open diff. Like asking for trouble. And why haven't they picked up on the idea themselves and made a diffcover?
God thing for Fredrik if they dont, but they must thank him for selling more cars. I would not of bought one if he haven't invented that cover. I wouldn't last one heat without having to replace the belt and pully on a typical Swedish track. This year we have at least three turf tracks in the country.
