Powerpoles for me as well, neater than Deans for saddle packs and being colour coded less chance of reverse connecting the pack like with Corally tubes.
The problem of Corally tube connectors coming apart is probably because different manufacturers make them at slightly different sizes, 3.5mm and 4mm. As they are sold as generic "Corally tubes" instead of by actual make it is easy to mix them up. Best to stick to the same make throughout.
As for what would I do if a car needed disconnecting and the batteries were soldered in I would turn it upside down so it can't go anywhere and just leave it - it's not the marshalls fault the batteries can't be unplugged and the electronics blow up, it's the owners problem for not including any way of diconnecting the battery. If there is a chance of fire I would just pull on the battery leads, they will snap at either the battery or ESC end if you pull hard enough.
