If you do anything like that on the 150ps Vectra's the ECU chucks a mental. It's ok to do it on the 120ps cars though apparently.

It's ok to do it on the 150's as well. If you blank it off but don't drill a hole the ECU kicks up a fault. Drilling a 10mm hole in in the plate allows some air through and the ECU seems fine with it.
Loads of people over on the astra owners forum have done it.
