Yes, Craig is correct, we have had issues with mini pins creating excessive fluff so we prefer not to run them. Pretty much anything else works and is allowed as long as it doesn't damage the carpet. It's a permanent venue and the carpet is glued down so we have to be a little careful to make sure it lasts as you can imagine certain parts of the track gets a LOT of use.
