I've heard the blast is decent value for money and very similar to the Lazer ZX-5, however the main problem is getting the parts, hardly anywhere really stocks spares yet, and when it comes to getting advice from people you race with, I doubt many(if any) will be using the LRP Blast. If you break a part while racing, no one at the track is likely to have a spare part to lend you.
Something to think about though. I spent about £175 on the Lazer ZX-5 RTR, I've since upgraded it to the Lazer ZX-5 SP, replacing a lot of cheap parts with decent ones, this must have cost me an additional £250, a total of £425. When I look now, a Lazer ZX-5 FS would of cost £299 and requires no upgrading!
The b4 recommended about would certainly be a good bet
