I'm trying to get a friend back into RC after 20 odd years... He has a Tamiya Stadium Thunder that he's keen to bring back from the dead to start racing with....
The first question is are Stadium Thunders worth anything? If so he probably shouldn't wreck it.
Assuming they aren't particularly collectable, is there any way to get an old truck like this competitive enough to race some of the short course trucks and stadium trucks out there? Would the transmission be able to take a less powerful brushless motor for example?
Lastly can you buy spares for old Tamiya's like this? What wheels and tyres would fit these days if any?
Any advice would be appreciated - is it a lost cause?
