Has it been tested in strong sunlight The IR-technology is knowned to be sensitive to sunlight.. Why not go with RFID instead, i guess You would be able to build a more reliable system, at more or less the same cost as IR..or is that coming in version 2??

Never the less.. Itīs great to see cost efficient systems for smaller clubs
