@Ema: The reason why we placed the TimeR on a tripod is that you can place it in an angle towards the track. This makes it possible for the IR-beam placed inside the car to pass over the roof of other cars passing at the same time.

Of course there are limits to this as well. If you are running a 1/10 touring car at the same time as a 1/5 large scale, you CAN expereince problems. As long as you are running cars of similar size you should not have any problems.

If there are many cars on the track we suggest you place the tripod on something of about 0.5 meter height to increase the reliablility.

At this point the software can manage to run qualification heats (delayed start) and final mode (simultaneous start). You select which users that are in the race and the results are shown live in the race-tab. Whenever the race is finished you can export the results to a pdf and run another race. Beside the race results all the laps are stored in the corresponding user tab as well, for further analysis.

It is important to stress that we are not aiming to compete with AMB. But you will definitely be able to run small club races with a minimum of setup time and a much lower cost!

The TimeR uses a Class 1 Bluetooth link to the computer to provide the data in real-time. The TimeR can provide a free line of sight range of approximately 100m. However, the limiting factor will be the internal Bluetooth of whatever laptop you are using since they most of the time include a Class 2 Blutooth device. The idea is that if the range is enough using the internal Bluetooth you are fine, otherwise you can buy a USB-Bluetooth device which improves the range further.

We are aware that the device might seem a bit expensive, but considering that you can split it between your racing mates it will become more cost efficient than any other system out there.
