My Novak wouldn't be hard to rewind at all, there are actually teeth on the stator (a rarity in inrunners).

I would assume that a lot of other companies making inrunners for cars make their stators the same way. The only problem I see is getting the rear endbell off the Novak. I think it's a friction fit over the stator, and a tight one at that.
