Not entirely sure what you mean, the balls should not slip but spin against the plates when the diff is - erm, diffing!

The Ultima RB5 felt good after a National, but it was a fairly loose surface. The ZX5 diff balls were a bit soft - as are the Tamiya 501X balls. Some Ceramics or Carbide balls would be a good idea for sure.
