Back in 2003 i took a break from the bike trade and went to work for Renault. Wow that opened my eyes to car dealerships. if a car went wrong you had to ask Renault what they were preppared to "contribute" towards the repair. Also you were unable to claim on a part that had already been claimed for.
The 1st week i started work there i had the task of telling a customer that the turbo on his 60,000 mile 2 year old £28,000 Laguna had blown whilst out on road test after its service. Trying to calm the customer down i later found out that he had already had 2 turbos previously blow! the sad thing was Renault paid 1st time round......after that the £2800 bills fell at the customers feet! I lasted 6 months at Renault before i went back to the bike trade. I couldn't handle the amount of hassle and daily angry customers!
