They both looke like they were pulled from the rubble of a 5-alarm house fire. I remember when I was a kid wanting a SuperChamp or a Racing Buggy Rough Rider in the WORST way. My brother's first kit was a Subaru Brat, and the tires on the Kyosho there look familliar and bring back some memories.

I like that you guys have a strong interest for the old stuff. I have been trying to collect pieces to replicate my '87 Schumacher Cat XLS for years, with a few narrow misses on acquiring a NOS kit for the rebuild. I have a box of NOS Cat tires still in the packaging, in all compounds and spike patterns, and even a Trinity ball diff setup still in the package.

Old habits die hard.
