How old is your son? There are some good Pit bikes around now for good money which are ideal to start on and a cheap eye opener to see if he likes it or definitely wants to have a go at some racing....
Just be prepared for the cost of this as a hobby though, if anyone thinks R/C racing is expensive, MX is a whole new ball game - similar to Karting in that way but equally great fun
