The MadRat is a better car, more suitable to being upgraded and is basically a cheap copy of an RC10B4. It's faster as stock than a Master Smacker but a bit more tricky to control as it is just a 2 wheel drive.
Master Smacker is dead easy to handle and is fine if your just going to be bashing about, but is less suitable for racing (changing gear ratios is a pain, spur gears never run true).
Alternatively there's the Step-up models or the HPI Brama 10B if you want to spend a bit more - I've no experience of either but have seen the Step Up Stinger recommended before.
