Hmmmm, I know the Tamiya 501X diff joints are pricey but I think they are well worth it if you ever want to run a big power motor. I think you still need to use the diff rings whichever joint you choose, you deffo do with the Tamiya 501X ones and as the 3racing ones are alloy I'm pretty sure you'd have to use the diff rings or the balls will chew through in no time.
