i had the same problem with mine, it was that bad it made it hard work to get down the straight. i've put a shim between the lower bearing, and the steering link, which takes out all the slop, around 0.3mm on my car. however you must make sure that it's only the same diameter as the inner race of the bearing, which meant i had to dremel down the outside diameter of the shim to make sure it won't bind the bearings up
