Default Ben Ellis setup from Electric RC Pro Series Round 1 Midwest

Quote:
Just got back from the Electric R/C Pro Series Round 1 Midwest. There were 4 ZX-5's in in 4wd Modified A-main. Team Losi driver Bradon Rohde TQ'ed, with my Kyosho teamate Scott Cramer qualifing second, then Dayton Miller then myself in 4th, and Young Derek Gillen qualifing in the 5th.

After an early bobble by Rohde, slowing down Cramer and Miller, I was able to take the lead and never look back. Rohde made several runs at me but was unable to put it together. After 6 minutes, I took the win, with Rohde in 2nd. I am not sure of the final finishing order, but pictures and results should be posted on R/C Pro Series website, and on Planet R/C's. So Kyosho takes an early lead in the Midwest.

Here is my setup from the race:

FRONT: Kyosho (stock Front) pistons, Losi 30wt oil, Losi dark Green front buggy springs, 1-C camber link (farthest outside whole on the tower block). -1 camber, 0 toe in. Shock inside on the A-arm, middle whole on the tower.

REAR: Kyosho ( stock rear) pistons, AE 35wt oil, Losi Pink rear buggy spring, Stock camber link on the tower block, middle on the Hub, Hubs forward, Shock on the inside on the A-arm, second whole down from the top on the tower.

Battery in the rear, Front One Way, ride height set at just slightly above bones level. I also moved the ball stud in the front steering spindals to the rear whole. This seemed to keep the car from wandering. I didn't have time, but I would have also liked to have tried moving the shocks in one whole on the front tower, this should also help to keep the car from wandering.

I used Team Losi pink taper pins, front and rear. Trinity bomb 1 grey in the rear, Losi stock foams up front. Both front and rear dremmeld down about 90 percent. I haven't had a chance to run the Kyosho springs yet, but I will soon and will update my setup with them in place.

-Ben Ellis
Ben posted this setup yesterday on rctech.net.
