Not really picking peanuts from poo
Thought it would be best to clarify. It costs nothing to find out!

E-mail from Paul Worsley.

Hi Adam,

Rule 23.10 states :-
Front or Rear tyres constructed by 'cutting and shutting' are not allowed.

This is interpreted as a tyre (or different tyres) that have been cut then 'shutted' back together using glue.
If the bead of the tyre is being cut to fit the wheel, then this is OK as you are not making a different type of tyre which necessitates parts of a tyre being glued together.

The beads of tyres are often trimmed to allow a better fit to the wheel.

Hope this clarifies the situation.
All the best,

Paul Worsley (Chairman, BRCA Off-Road)
PP. Phill Truman (Tech. Officer, BRCA Off-Road).
