Chris, does your motor have a sintered or bonded rotor? If it's bonded, it might be why you are getting cogging in dual mode as the feedback to the speedo isn't as strong.

It's also worth checking that your motor sensors are working. You can check them by switching the speedo on with the motor connected and rotating the motor by hand. You should see 3 lights on the speedo flicker in turn as each sensor works.... Although if its working in sensored only mode these should be fine.

I was using Nosram motors (sintered) with the Speedo before the Tekin motors were available and I never had any issues.
