MattW Didn't mean to slag it off completely. If you know what you're up to it's a real weapon and fairly reliable as well. As to the resetting problem I've seen a couple do it repeatedly albeit mostly on carpet.

My main gripe with them is that they totally overwhelm some people who end up with cars with really shitty throttle characteristics and end up thinking that's the way they're meant to go. We've had so many people turn up at the club with hideous, undriveable cars and in most cases there was a GM speedo installed and the poor bloke going on about power curve this and autostart that and ramp up here and variable timing advance whatnot. Most of the time they were totally surprised that the car went much better with the bog-standard settings.

They are seriously too complicated and way to easy to get completely wrong. The software interface is misleading, badly explained and confusing. Out of memory one of the points which really confused a lot of people was setting the LiPo cutoff point because the interface was intensely intricate and contorted.

I used to run GM speedos in the 90's (HEL3000, Helbing Sport) and they were just as bad. Lots of settings and sweet when you got it right but horrible if you missed a beep when setting it up.

There are far easier speedos out there that run nicely right out of the box which are just about idiot-proof to set up and tune.
