I've always used AE, never been a fan of schumacher oil for the reason you've found.. it is always noticably thinner than other brands.
However if you solely use schumacher oil im sure you could find the 'correct' weights for comparisons to set up sheets, or you could just use what everyone else does, AE/Losi
