There was a very good independant report made that showed diferent brands of oil had very different results. The main point was getting the weight labelled on the bottle correct to the actual viscosity.
Some brands for example had 300 weight that was close to 400 and even 400 weight that was close to the 300weight oil.

I cant find the report now but i think it was on rctech.

The best for accurate viscosity ratings was Kyosho. (disclaimer!! I work for Kyosho uk so i am biased)

The key point is that if you are ruinning 300 weight oil and go to 400 weight, You want to be sure thats exactly what you get or you may be confused in getting the set up changes you desire. this is especially compounded if you swap between brands as there are even greater discrepencies to be had.

If someone could find the report it was very interesting.
