Sorry, I forgot to answer your question. the idler is touching the spur about in the middle of its surface, around 40% starting from the inner side.

Bad drawing, but 1 = idler, ² = spur, I hope you understand what I mean by 40%.
And the idler spins freely, make sure it does!

Or are you more central on the idler with the spur?
Also, does your idler spin freely in your hand or is it a little tight (but not much)? Just wondering if mine is too loose and has some play in it on the bearings.
