Well, since i posted about it the car has been fully built with electrics installed.
You dont hear the click over the motor/spur gear.
I did check everyones suggestions - and thank you
- and i have put it down to the poor molding on the pulleys. it must be slightly catching on the bulkheads

I have tried removing most of the flashing, but thats all i can think it being.
Thanks again for all your help and if i finally get to the bottom of it i will post up for everyones info.
