You only need to look to see the obvious weight differences - the Alloy ones are big! I'd not have thought the unsprung weight would make that much difference, but maybe it does.
The Alloy blocks are certainly stronger and offer some great tuning options simply not available on the plastic (non adjustable) blocks.
