In theory, if all things are equal the shocks characteristics shouldnt change too much.
A large shock capacity will help with greater consistency and the oil not having to work as hard therefore lasting longer and requiring less maintenance.
But with new pistons shapes, number of drilled holes, as well as revised springs, I think that some fine tuning will be necessary to get the best from them.
