Ball diff save weight? Save money? Maybe, maybe not. We'll see, when it's released.
I see ball diffs (for the DEX410) as a tuning tool, mostly. Seems it would be right at home on a slippy dirt surface that rapidly changes during the course of an event. Quick and easy adjustments, made in seconds. Maybe higher maintenance?
High traction turf surfaces usually don't change much, and that's where gear diffs would shine. Higher traction means higher stress on the diff. Metal gear diffs don't have a problem there. (Ball diffs? Maybe) Set and forget, when you find the right oils. IMO.
Just seems to be another great addition to the already superior Durango arsenal!
(and, I still want to know about the release date!)
