Only thing to add is that the best compromise for many is to run a one-way on the centre shaft and a front diff .... gives you the benefits of a 1-way and a diff together!!!
I can't drive a car with full time 4wd but don't like 1-way diffs ... an issue for us FS users as no centre one-way is available (yet
