Ignore Stampy's advice on alloy bits, none of those bits are any good for racing at all.

As Sparrow says, get ball races £8, second hand B4 shocks and a new moulded t-plate if it's not in the kit already.

With these on the car will be every bit as competitive as an RB5 or B4. spares are easy to get but fairly expensive in relation to the £50 kit price. You'd be better off buying 2 kits!

As Sparrow says, a second hand B4 will serve you just as well, just depends if you like the B4's handling or not. I think the madrat would be easier to drive for a beginner as the rear end is a lot more planted than a B4.

oh, and you will need to add lead to the car. lots of it, around 200g, mainly at the front
