i always put two holes in the wheels, No more than 3mm across, opposite one another. Then i find the best insert for me (in this case i prefer losi or proline) and glue roughly six dots of glue either side so i can easily reuse the wheel when the tires wear out. I have never had a tyre come off.

Bead is the large circular flat bit that slots into the grooves on the wheels. It sometimes is not perfectly formed so you need to trim it to fit perfectly in the wheel slotted groove.
