Within reason, you can't take it somewhere that charges 5 times as much as a normal garage, they will just decline. When i had mine done i checked out the garage they chose and they were very good so i didn't look elsewhere.
Your premium will go up, i just do a quote as if i didn't have a crash then say im leaving if they don't match it. My premium is £290. Not bad for a non fault claim, 3 points and a 143bhp sports model car thats kept on the street.
