I had that one and instead of a top deck it had a right angled 'backbone' spine screwed and glued along the top face of the chassis, and I seem to remember that it had a reduced depth cut out near the front for the steering, so as soon as you had a front impact it just broke the backbone at the weak point. Shouldn't be a problem on the shelf though!
Still a nice car though, especially those magnesium bits.
