The entire point of the thread has been lost.
It is utterly irrelevant wether main dealers are good, bad, rip-off's or good value.
The fact is this - The manufacturer has chosen a particular garage to invest it's time, money, equipment and most importantly reputation on. It is only fair that they should get to choose who gets to keep the warranty valid by servicing it
