Do you really need to run 7:1 ratio? Have never tried a 8.5T.
With X12 6.5 I run 12.5:1 (15T pinion/91T spur) on smaller tracks. With a 8.5T it would maybe be something like 9,74:1 to get the same top speed? (21T/91T). Anyone who knows?
I also run 9.8:1 (19T pinion/91T spur) on large tracks. The TRF team ran that ratio on the Bilbao track.
With a 8.5T it would be 7,6:1? Again, not sure.
Why not try 21T/91T? Itīs 8.9:1. Or 21T/87 (8.5:1)
For the X12 6.5T they recommend 9:1, but I think the car will be to fast with that gearing.
