is it sorted?
on your laptop/pc:
click start , programs, control panel, network connections, Local Area Connection, properties, internet protocol(tcp/ip),:
This opens a box where you have basically two choices
1 obtain ip address automatically
2 use specified address
if your pc is set to 1 then it shouldnt conflict if you switch it on after the ps3 no matter what thats set to. if you switch it on before the ps3 and thats set to a fixed address then the pc may pick up the ps3's address if its not reserved as that address is free when the ps3's off.
Hope that makes sense.
If all devices that connect to your router use DHCP ie option 1 above then there shouldnt be any conflicts.
If you can access your router you can see which devices are using which addresses.
details to log onto router are often printed on the bottom of it.
cheers,
Ian
