problem with Windows, it is suppose to work on 99.9% of machines, thats a tall order.
Linux derivatives, yes, they are fast, light, but as soon as you need to use most apps, you got to work at it, does it work with your desktop, your kernel.... etc, the best thing about Linux, being open source and free, is it's downfall too, far to many options and choices to use.
I bought a netbook, as my laptop was to slow, I was going to go to Ubuntu, or similar, as most stuff I needed, I could get, but I have one peice of software, runs on .Net Framework, screwed...
