Is there an mscomm32.ocx file in the folder that the Pro-Trak software runs from ?
Sounds like the usual "DLL hell" problem where one application installs a version of a shared library that another app depends on. Often the solution is to put a copy of the correctly versioned DLL in the app's directory (this is because Windows by default searches for DLLs first in the app dir, and then the system dirs. Well, usually. What version of Windows are you running?).
