Recently back in racing myself at 34. Run at Bury and Southport - finding I fit in pretty well at either because we're all a similar age. Makes for a pleasant social atmosphere.

Also as mentioned new tech helps:
Lipos can be charged the night before, and don't need discharging.
Brushless needs virtually no looking after.
2.4gHz means no interference and no need to change crystals
and personal transponders mean you don't need to fit and remove.

What this means is that I can turn up as the heat before finishes, switch on my car , drive my heat, switch off, marshal, swap batteries and socialise til the next round.......
