I wasn't thinking of anything complex, simply having a cut away to allow it to pass over the bumper with more metal below. So it would still be flat but more like :

than
o-o
i.e. more U shaped if that makes sense. (p.s. imagine the line is thicker than that I'm just trying to give an impression).
Anyway nice work on what you've done already
I just don't want to dremel as I'm concerned it will create gaps that will let dirt in.
Hopefully schumacher are working on a fix themselves.
