im pretty sure lead gives off some nasty toxins when melted so dont breathe the vapours in.
as said above,why not get some lead sheeting from a plumbers/building suppliers,it bends like soft toffee so easy enough to get the shape you want,just put it in a bowl of boiling water for a minute.
