ROUND 1: -

Firstly, just a quick note to say thank you to the following clubs members of, Norfolk Buggy Club, Coastal Model Car Racing Club, West Suffolk Model Car Club and LBC for entering the first round of the S.E.N GP and making it such an enjoyable day. The weather and atmosphere was fantastic and made for a great days racing.

Thank you to LBC for putting on such a great track and a special mention to Paul "Wiggles" Newman for the additions, including the jumps and table top. A lot of praise has been received for these and we wanted to pass it on. Thanks again.

Starting with the 2WD class, the tight battle for 1st place in round 1 was won by George Fairweather (Coastal) in his X6. George Fairweather's driving was not only quick but very consistent over the bumpy track and was enough to win the day with an amazing maximum of points!!!

George was followed very closely by Simon Watson (Norfolk Buggy Club), finishing second overall from James Coles (LBC) taking 3rd; both running the favoured Kyosho RB5.

The 2WD had many exciting and close races with many positions being won or lost on the last couple of corners. The next round sees George on home turf and will make for an interesting battle on the Coastal hill.

The 4WD was won emphatically by Andy East of LBC taking the maximum points by winning every single race with "The Horn". Jonathan Brown, (Norfolk Buggy Club) the regions BRCA F1 driver, who frantically had to rustle a B44 together in the week, then prep it for a new track, did exceptionally well throughout the day on unknown bumpy turf, pushing Andy all the way. Finishing 3rd on the day overall in 4WD, Steve Baker, with the Yokomo B-Max, who's consistent and patient driving style, whilst cautious, was extremely effective, pipping John Myall to overall 3rd spot.

The next round, hosted by Coastal on the 17th May, will see the current top 4WD drivers away from their home tracks and should prove to be an exciting mix on the unique slopes of CMCRC @ Ipswich. Thank you to all who attended and for making the first round so enjoyable. Thank you to our sponsors Trakpower and see you all and we hope some new faces at Round 2!!!
