I actually think not, otherwise they would not give a price-reduction for people giving away their AMB-PT-numper to MRT.

Option 1: you have an AMB-transponder: you just let it become cloned: the AMB-number is the programmed into the MRT-transponder (+ 20 extra numbers). Even if you have an old AMB-transponder that is severely damaged, its number can often be cloned, so you can always use that number. Ones bought, always owner of that number.

Option 2: you buy a normal MRT-transponder with 20 numbers.
With that, you get a little manual, on which you will also find the 20 numbers.
WIth a push on the little transponder-button you can choose the number you prefer or like.
... and you drive it.
You DO run the risk of having the same number as someone else ... but this will NEVER be the same number as someone with an AMB-transponder, as Terry from MRT only uses the numbers he posseses.
All you then have to do, is switch the MRT-transpondernumber with a push at the button ... or the other guy with the MRT-transponder.
Even if you by a coincidence, should have the same numbers in both transponders ... there are 20 and normally a race is with about 12 cars max, so enough numbers to choose from.

From what I have heared: people owning an MRT for years, were driving in competition for years and NEVER had to switch onces so chances you'll have to are very slim. ANd even if you have to, it's dead-easy.

I'll post the little manual, i got with mine (It's a cloned PT!)

hopes this helps
my 20 numbers are the same, but that said, how hard is it to press a button to change a number if you clash with someone else's
