I read the instructions as I forgot how to recalibrate so I did do that step.

The channel reverse was done already, ch2 is the throttle channel

I had the aerial cable along side a partially extended tranny aerial and did not touch the aerial whatsoever.

I now that servo movement only proves that the BEC circuit is working to supply radio and servo power. I will recharge the tranny batts just in case the voltage drops on a partial battery meant the calibration was not spot on.

If it works then all is good, otherwise no bashing for 2 weeks :-(
